His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Supply and Services and the President of the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 10(2) of the Publication of Statutes Act and section 52 of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby to revoke Order in Council P.C. 1953-609 of 22nd April, 1953* and to make the annexed Direction regarding the Distribution of the Acts of Parliament.Not published in the Canada Gazette Part IIShort TitleThis Direction may be cited as the Statutes of Canada Distribution Direction.DeliveryThe Acts of the Parliament of Canada shall, as soon after the close of each session as practicable, be delivered without charge to the persons listed in the schedule.Governor GeneralLieutenant Governors of the ProvincesSpeaker of the SenateSpeaker of the House of CommonsPrime MinisterLeader of the Opposition in the SenateLeader of the Opposition in the House of CommonsMinisters of the Government of CanadaMembers of the Parliament of Canada not otherwise included on this listMembers of the judiciary of Canada, including provincial court judges and magistratesAttorneys General, Ministers of Justice and Solicitors General of the Governments of the ProvincesChief or senior legislative counsel of each ProvinceChief librarians of court houses in CanadaChief librarians of law schools in CanadaMembers and officials of the Government of any foreign country and persons holding positions in universities and other institutions in that country ifreciprocal arrangements exist for similar distribution without charge in Canada; orthe Minister of Justice, the Secretary of State for External Affairs, the Librarian and Archivist of Canada or the Parliamentary Librarian recommend the free distribution.2004, c. 11, s. 52
