(<DefinedTermFr>Registre canadien des armes à feu</DefinedTermFr>)</Text></Definition></Section><Heading Code="ga=&quot;s_2&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;" level="1"><TitleText Code="ga=&quot;s_2&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;,t1=&quot;&quot;,nb=&quot;2&quot;">CANADIAN FIREARMS REGISTRY</TitleText></Heading><Section Code="se=&quot;2&quot;"><Label>2.</Label><Text>For the purposes of paragraph 83(1)(<Emphasis style="italic">f</Emphasis>) of the Act, records shall be kept in the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Canadian Firearms Registry</XRefExternal> of the following matters:</Text><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;a&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>every application for a licence, registration certificate or authorization that is issued or revoked by the Registrar, as well as all information accompanying the application;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;b&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">b</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>any information provided to the Registrar concerning firearms that are taken as samples or seized under the Act or any other Act of Parliament;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;c&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">c</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the names of the individuals who are designated as chief firearms officers or firearms officers within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Act;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;d&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">d</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>information concerning prohibition orders made under section 147.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="N-5">National Defence Act</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;e&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">e</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the names of the individuals who are approved verifiers within the meaning of the <XRefExternal reference-type="regulation" link="SOR-98-202">Conditions of Transferring Firearms and other Weapons Regulations</XRefExternal>; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;2&quot;,p1=&quot;f&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">f</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>information concerning any other matter relevant to the Registrar’s responsibilities under the Act, that is required to be collected under the Act or any other Act of Parliament.</Text></Paragraph></Section><Heading Code="ga=&quot;s_3&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;" level="1"><TitleText Code="ga=&quot;s_3&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;,t1=&quot;&quot;,nb=&quot;3&quot;">RECORDS OF CHIEF FIREARMS OFFICERS</TitleText></Heading><Section Code="se=&quot;3&quot;"><Label>3.</Label><Text>For the purposes of paragraph 87(1)(<Emphasis style="italic">d</Emphasis>) of the Act, a chief firearms officer shall keep records of the following matters:</Text><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;a&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>information concerning every approved shooting club or shooting range within the province;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;b&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">b</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>any information provided to the chief firearms officer concerning any recognizance referred to in section 810 or 810.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>, bail condition, probation order condition or condition of parole, that contains a prohibition or limitation on the possession of any weapon or other device referred to in subsection 109(1) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;c&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">c</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>information concerning the restoration of an authorization, a licence or a registration certificate under section 117.06 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="C-46">Criminal Code</XRefExternal>;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;d&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">d</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the names of the instructors in the province who are designated for the purpose of giving a course or test referred to in section 7 of the Act;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;e&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">e</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the names of the individuals who have met the requirements of section 7 of the Act, including the date and place of any course or test;</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;f&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">f</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>every certification issued under paragraph 7(4)(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>) of the Act; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;3&quot;,p1=&quot;g&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">g</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the maximum inventory levels for prohibited firearms, prohibited weapons, prohibited devices or prohibited ammunition set out in accordance with subsection 24(3) of the <XRefExternal reference-type="regulation" link="SOR-98-199">Firearms Licences Regulations</XRefExternal>.</Text></Paragraph></Section><Heading Code="ga=&quot;s_4&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;" level="1"><TitleText Code="ga=&quot;s_4&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;,t1=&quot;&quot;,nb=&quot;4&quot;">DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS</TitleText></Heading><Section Code="se=&quot;4&quot;"><Label>4.</Label><Subsection Code="se=&quot;4&quot;,ss=&quot;1&quot;"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Subject to subsection (2), for the purpose of section 84 of the Act, a record kept in the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Canadian Firearms Registry</XRefExternal> shall not be destroyed until after the expiration of 10 years after the date of the last administrative action taken regarding the information in the record.</Text></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;4&quot;,ss=&quot;2&quot;"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>A record, kept in the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Canadian Firearms Registry</XRefExternal> under paragraph 83(1)(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>) of the Act, of a registration certificate that is issued or revoked shall not be destroyed.</Text></Subsection></Section><Section Code="se=&quot;5&quot;"><Label>5.</Label><Text>For the purpose of subsection 87(2) of the Act, a record kept by a chief firearms officer shall not be destroyed until after the expiration of 10 years after the date of the last administrative action taken regarding the information in the record.</Text></Section><Section Code="se=&quot;6&quot;"><Label>6.</Label><Subsection Code="se=&quot;6&quot;,ss=&quot;1&quot;"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Despite section 5, the following records shall not be destroyed until after the death of the individual in respect of whom they are kept:</Text><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;6&quot;,ss=&quot;1&quot;,p1=&quot;a&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>the record attesting to the fact that the individual has met the requirements of section 7 of the Act, including the date and place of any course or test; and</Text></Paragraph><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;6&quot;,ss=&quot;1&quot;,p1=&quot;b&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">b</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>records of every certification issued under paragraph 7(4)(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>) of the Act.</Text></Paragraph></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;6&quot;,ss=&quot;2&quot;"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>Despite sections 4 and 5, records of prohibition orders kept under paragraph 87(1)(<Emphasis style="italic">c</Emphasis>) of the Act and records of information concerning prohibition orders made under section 147.1 of the <XRefExternal reference-type="act" link="N-5">National Defence Act</XRefExternal> shall not be destroyed until after the death of the individual in respect of whom the record is kept unless the individual meets the requirements of subsection 7(3) of the Act.</Text></Subsection></Section><Heading Code="ga=&quot;s_7&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;" level="1"><TitleText Code="ga=&quot;s_7&quot;,h1=&quot;&quot;,t1=&quot;&quot;,nb=&quot;5&quot;">AMENDMENT OF RECORDS</TitleText></Heading><Section Code="se=&quot;7&quot;"><Label>7.</Label><Subsection Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;1&quot;"><Label>(1)</Label><Text>Records kept in the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Canadian Firearms Registry</XRefExternal> under section 83 of the Act shall be amended only by the Registrar.</Text></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;2&quot;"><Label>(2)</Label><Text>Records kept under section 87 of the Act by a chief firearms officer shall be amended only by the chief firearms officer.</Text></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;3&quot;"><Label>(3)</Label><Text>The Registrar shall inform every chief firearms officer of any amendment made under subsection (1).</Text></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;4&quot;"><Label>(4)</Label><Text>A chief firearms officer shall inform the Registrar and all other chief firearms officers of any amendment made under subsection (2).</Text></Subsection><Subsection Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;5&quot;"><Label>(5)</Label><Text>An individual who wants personal information that is contained in a record about himself or herself to be amended shall submit an application in writing</Text><Paragraph Code="se=&quot;7&quot;,ss=&quot;5&quot;,p1=&quot;a&quot;"><Label>(<Emphasis style="italic">a</Emphasis>)</Label><Text>in the case of a record in the <XRefExternal reference-type="other">Canadian Firearms Registry</XRefExternal>, to the Registrar;
