Issuance of Certificate of Approval
21.1 The fee payable for the initial issuance of a certificate of approval for structural or outfitting components or for safety equipment is $400, and the fee payable for each renewal of the certificate of approval is $200.

Examination or Approval of Plans and Other Documents
22. (1) Subject to subsections (2) and 22.1(2) and section 22.2, the fee payable for the examination or approval of a first submission of each plan, each diagrammatic layout, each system schematic or each technical document submitted in respect of a new ship or modifications to an existing ship of a class set out in column I of an item of the table to this section is the fee set out in column II of the item, and the maximum fee payable in respect of the ship is the fee set out in column III of that item.
(2) The fee set out in subsection (1) is not payable in respect of an identical sister ship whose keel is laid, or is at a similar stage of construction, within 18 months of the keel laying of the original ship.
(3) The fee payable for the examination or approval of a second and each subsequent submission of each plan, each diagrammatic layout, each system schematic or each technical document submitted in respect of a new ship or modifications to an existing ship of a class set out in column I of an item of the table to this section is one half of the fee set out in column II of the item, with no maximum fee.
(4) Where a non-passenger ship or fishing vessel is designed to carry passengers, it shall be considered to be a passenger vessel for the purposes of this section.
