Order Respecting the Remission of Customs Duty on Goods Used in the Manufacture of Satellites and Satellite Subsystems for Export

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance and the Treasury Board, pursuant to section 17 of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby to revoke the Electronic Subsystems for Communication Satellites Remission Order, made by Order in Council P.C. 1980-1677 of 19th June, 1980Footnote *, and to make the annexed Order respecting the remission of customs duty on goods used in the manufacture of satellites and satellite subsystems for export.

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Satellites and Satellite Subsystems Remission Order, 1982.

Remission

 Subject to section 3, remission is hereby granted of the customs duty paid or payable under the Customs Tariff on goods, other than goods classified under tariff items 42700-1 and 42701-1 of the Customs Tariff, imported during the period commencing on March 30, 1980 and ending on December 31, 1987 for use in the manufacture of satellites and satellite subsystems for export.

Condition

 The remission referred to in section 2 is granted on condition that a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within three years of the date of importation.
