Order Prescribing the Fee To Be Paid by any User to whom any Pardon Services Are Provided by the National Parole Board

The Solicitor General of Canada, pursuant to Order in Council P.C. 1995-698 of April 26, 1995Footnote * and paragraph 19(1)(b)Footnote ** of the Financial Administration Act, hereby makes the annexed Order prescribing the fee to be paid by any user to whom any pardon services are provided by the National Parole Board.

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Pardon Services Fees Order.

Interpretation

 In this Order,

pardon services

pardon services includes

  • (a) inquiries made, upon request of the National Parole Board, by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to ascertain the conduct of the person applying for a pardon following the date of the person’s most recent conviction,

  • (b) the decision-making of the National Parole Board,

  • (c) the granting and the issuing of, and the refusal to grant or issue, pardons, and

  • (d) notifications by the National Parole Board and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, regarding the National Parole Board decision and the separate storage of records, to the person applying for a pardon, to any organization that has a file or information concerning the conviction for which a pardon is applied for, and to any organization that is consulted during any inquiry. Fee

 Any person referred to in subsection 3(1) of the Criminal Records Act who applies to the National Parole Board for a pardon pursuant to that Act shall pay for all pardon services provided by the National Parole Board a fee of $150 to be paid to the order of the Receiver General.
