Order Respecting the Remission of Anti-Dumping Duties on Certain Hot-Dipped Galvannealed Steel Sheet for use in the Manufacture of Non-Exposed Motor Vehicle Parts

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 101 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Order Respecting the Remission of Anti-Dumping Duties on Certain Hot-Dipped Galvannealed Steel Sheet for use in the Manufacture of Non-Exposed Motor Vehicle Parts.

Remission

 Subject to sections 2 and 3, remission is hereby granted of the anti-dumping duties paid or payable on imports of certain hot-dipped galvannealed steel sheet, coating weight 45/45 g/m2, 1.0 mm thick by 101 mm wide by coil, 390 MPa/mm2 hi-tensile, with a minimum elongation of 40%, for use in the manufacture of non-exposed motor vehicle parts.

Conditions

 Remission is granted pursuant to section 1 on condition that:

  • (a) the goods on which remission is granted are imported on or after July 1, 1997;

  • (b) a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years after the day on which this Order comes into force; and

  • (c) the importer files such evidence as National Revenue may require that the subject steel has been, or is to be, used in the manufacture of motor vehicle parts.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on October 23, 1997.
