     The following definitions apply in this Subdivision.

    floor panel

    floor panel  means a walk-in panel that is installed, or designed to be installed, as the floor of a walk-in freezer. (panneau de plancher)

    structural panel

    structural panel  means a walk-in panel that is installed, or is designed to be installed, as the ceiling or a wall of a walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer. (panneau de structure)

    10 C.F.R. §431.304  means section 431.304 of Subpart R, Part 431 of Title 10 to the United States Code of Federal Regulations, as amended from time to time. (10 C.F.R. §431.304)

    walk-in panel

    walk-in panel  means a panel that is installed, or is designed to be installed, as part of the envelope of a walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer, but does not include a walk-in door assembly or a walk-in panel that is designed and marketed exclusively for medical, scientific or research purposes. (panneau de chambre froide)

    walk-in process cooling refrigeration system

    walk-in process cooling refrigeration system  means a refrigeration system that

    • (a) is sold as a set with an insulated enclosure and, when assembled with the enclosure, has a cooling capacity of at least 1.035 kW/m3 (100 Btu/h/ft3) of enclosed internal volume;

    • (b) is a unit cooler — or a dedicated condensing unit exclusively sold as a set that has a dedicated condensing unit and a unit cooler — that has an evaporator coil with a means of forced air circulation and a height that is

      • (i) at least 1.37 metres (4.5 feet), as measured perpendicular to the tubes, and

      • (ii) at least one and a half times the width, as measured parallel to the tubes; or

    • (c) is sold as a set that has a dedicated condensing unit and an evaporator coil that does not have a means of forced air circulation. (système de réfrigération de type chambre pour refroidissement industriel)

     The following definitions apply in this Division.

    appliance lamp

    appliance lamp  means a lamp that is designed to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 315ºC, has a maximum nominal power of 40 W and is marketed as an appliance lamp. (lampe pour appareils électroménagers)

    coloured lamp

    coloured lamp  means a lamp that is marketed as a coloured lamp and has

    • (a) a colour rendering index of less than 50, as determined in accordance with CIE 13.3; or

    modified spectrum lamp

    modified spectrum lamp  means a lamp, other than a coloured lamp, that

    • (a) is marketed as a modified spectrum lamp; and

    • (b) when operated at its nominal voltage and nominal power, has a colour point that, on the 1931 chromaticity diagram described in CIE 15, lies below the black-body locus and is at least 4 MacAdam steps, as described in IES LM16, distant from the colour point of a clear lamp with the same filament and bulb shape and that operates at the same nominal voltage and nominal power. (lampe à spectre modifié)

    plant lamp

    plant lamp  means a lamp that contains a filter or coating to suppress light with wavelengths of less than 0.58 µm and that is marketed as a plant lamp. (lampe pour horticulture)

    rough service lamp

    rough service lamp  means a lamp that is marketed as a rough service lamp and has any of the following filament constructions, as illustrated in figure 6.12 of the IES Handbook:

    shatter-resistant lamp

    shatter-resistant lamp  means a lamp that has an external silicone, polytetrafluoroethylene or similar coating applied to it for the purpose of resisting breakage and preventing glass from reaching the operating environment in the event of breakage and that is marketed as a shatter-resistant lamp. (lampe résistante à l’éclatement)

    silver bowl lamp

    silver bowl lamp  means a lamp that is marketed as a silver bowl lamp and that has a reflective coating that is applied directly to a part of the bulb surface so that light is reflected toward the lamp base. (lampe à calotte argentée)

    vibration service lamp

    vibration service lamp  means a lamp that

    • (a) is marketed as a vibration service lamp;

    10 C.F.R. §430.32(n)(4)  means the table to paragraph 430.32(n)(4) of Subpart C, Part 430 of Title 10 to the United States Code of Federal Regulations, as amended from time to time. (10 C.F.R. §430.32(n)(4))

    cold temperature fluorescent lamp

    cold temperature fluorescent lamp  means a fluorescent lamp that is marketed for outdoor or cold temperature use and that is designed to start at temperatures as low as –29°C (–20°F) when used with a ballast that conforms to the requirements of ANSI C78.81 and ANSI C78.901. (lampe fluorescente pour basses températures)

    coloured fluorescent lamp

    coloured fluorescent lamp  means a fluorescent lamp that has

    • (a) a colour rendering index of less than 40, as determined in accordance with CIE 13.3; or

    • (b) a correlated colour temperature of less than 2 500 K or more than 7 000 K, as determined in accordance with the IES standard IES LM-9-09 entitled IES Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric Measurement of Fluorescent Lamps. (lampe fluorescente colorée)

    general service fluorescent lamp

    general service fluorescent lamp  means a fluorescent lamp that

    Marginal note:Definition of modified spectrum incandescent lamp
    •  (1) In this Subdivision, modified spectrum incandescent lamp means a modified spectrum lamp that has a luminous flux of at least 232 lm but not more than 1 950 lm, a nominal voltage of at least 110 V but not more than 130 V or a nominal voltage range that lies at least partially between those voltages, and a screw base. It does not include any of the following:

      • (d) a lamp that has a G-shape as specified in ANSI C78.20 and ANSI C78.79 and a diameter of 12.7 cm or more;

      • (e) a lamp that has a T-shape as specified in ANSI C78.20 and ANSI C78.79 and a maximum nominal power of 40 W or a length of more than 25.4 cm or both;

    •  (1) In this Subdivision, general service lamp means an electrical device that provides functional illumination and has a luminous flux of at least 310 lm but not more than 2 600 lm, a nominal voltage of at least 110 V but not more than 130 V or a nominal voltage range that lies at least partially between those voltages and a screw base. It does not include any of the following:
