C-27.7181993PreambleWHEREAS on November 20, 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in the United Nations General Assembly;AND WHEREAS the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has been ratified by Canada;AND WHEREAS it is desirable to promote in Canada an awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child;NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:Short TitleShort titleThis Act may be cited as the Child Day Act.Child DayChild dayThroughout Canada, in each and every year, the 20th day of November, being the day in the year 1989 when the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in the United Nations General Assembly, shall be known as "Child Day".
