Ship Station (Radio) Regulations, 1999

15 (1) No ship shall navigate in a shipping safety control zone unless the ship meets the requirements of these Regulations and the Ship Station (Radio) Technical Regulations, 1999.

(2) An Arctic class ship or a Type A ship navigating in a shipping safety control zone,except in zones 14 to 16 as prescribed in section 3 of the Shipping Safety Control Zones Order, shall be equipped with a radio facsimile terminal.

(3) The radio facsimile terminal shall be capable of receiving transmissions of ice information from radio stations and ice reconnaissance aircraft in the area in which the ship is navigating.
