    Regulations Respecting the Control and Regulation of the Sale of Feeds

     These Regulations may be cited as the Feeds Regulations, 1983.


  2. Feeds Regulations, 1983 - SOR/83-593 (Section 2)
    Regulations Respecting the Control and Regulation of the Sale of Feeds
    •  (1) In these Regulations,

      brand

      brand  means any distinctive mark or trade name, apart from the name of the feed required to be applied by these Regulations, applied by the manufacturer, registrant or vendor to a feed to distinguish it from another feed; (marque)

      caution statement

      caution statement  means a statement relating to animal health hazards or to safe product handling or storage that is required to be included on the label of a feed by these Regulations; (précaution)

      macro-premix

      macro-premix  means a feed that is used with another feed to improve the nutritive balance of the total and that is intended to be further diluted and mixed to produce a supplement or complete feed that conforms to the standards prescribed in these Regulations; (macro-prémélange)

      warning statement

      warning statement  means a statement relating to human health hazards that is required to be included on the label of a feed by these Regulations. (mise en garde)

  3. Feeds Regulations, 1983 - SOR/83-593 (Section 22)
    Regulations Respecting the Control and Regulation of the Sale of Feeds
    •  (1) Every mixed feed that is sold or imported under a name set out in Column I of Table 3 of Schedule I shall conform to any definition of that feed in section 2 and to the standards prescribed in these Regulations for that feed and shall be packaged and labelled as prescribed in these Regulations.

    • (2) Every single ingredient feed sold or imported under a name set out in italics in an item of Schedule IV shall conform to the description of that feed set out in that item and to the standards prescribed in these Regulations for that feed and shall be packaged and labelled as prescribed in these Regulations.


  4. Feeds Regulations, 1983 - SOR/83-593 (Section 12)
    Regulations Respecting the Control and Regulation of the Sale of Feeds
    •  (1) Subject to subsections (2) to (4), the Minister shall cancel a certificate of registration in respect of any feed if there are reasonable grounds to believe that, with respect to that feed, there has been a contravention of the Act, these Regulations, the Health of Animals Act or any regulations made under that Act.

    • (2) A certificate of registration shall be cancelled only if the Minister has sent a notice to the registrant by registered mail that

      • (a) identifies the provision of the Act or these Regulations that has not been complied with;

    • (4) The Minister shall cancel the certificate of registration where

      • (b) the registrant has failed to comply with, or has failed to bring the feed for which the certificate of registration was issued into compliance with, the provisions of the Act or these Regulations referred to in paragraph 2(a) within the period specified in the notice or continues, after that period has expired, to contravene or fail to comply with those provisions; and

      Vitamin A (IFN 7-05-142) is an acetate ester, a palmitate ester, a propionate ester or a mixture of these esters of retinol formulated in an organic matrix. It shall be labelled with a guarantee for minimum international units of vitamin A per kilogram.

      Vitamin E (IFN 7-05-150) is an acetate ester, a succinate ester or a mixture of these esters of dl-alpha tocopherol adsorbed on a carrier or formulated in an organic matrix. It shall be labelled with a guarantee for minimum international units of vitamin E per kilogram.
