51 (1) Any notice that is to be served under Part 5 of the Act must be served by
(a) in the case of service on an individual,
(ii) leaving a copy of it with someone who appears to be an adult member of the same household at the individual’s last known address or usual place of residence,
(iii) sending a copy of it by registered mail or courier to the individual’s last known address or usual place of residence,
(2) Delivery of a document to an individual by hand is effected by delivering it
(a) to the individual or to a person who has attained 18 years of age and who is present at the individual’s last known address; or
(b) if the individual is a minor, to the individual’s parent or to any other person having lawful custody of the minor or to a person who has attained 18 years of age who is present at the last known address of the parent or the person having lawful custody.
(3) Delivery of a document to an individual by regular mail is effected by sending it by regular mail to the individual’s last known address or, if the individual is a minor, to the last known address of the individual’s parent or of any other person having lawful custody.
(3) Service of a document on an individual by mail or a courier is effected
(a) by sending it by ordinary mail to the individual’s last known address, accompanied by an acknowledgement of receipt card;
(b) by sending it by registered mail to the individual’s last known address;
(c) by delivering the document by courier to the individual’s last known address; or
(d) if the individual is a minor or under a legal disability, by sending it by registered mail or delivering the document by courier to the last known address of the person who is acting on the individual’s behalf.
