CANADA LABOUR CODE

Regulations Respecting the Remuneration and Expenses of Chairmen and Members of Industrial Inquiry Commissions and Conciliation Boards and of Conciliation Commissioners and Mediators

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Canada Industrial Relations Remuneration Regulations.

Remuneration

 The remuneration to be paid under section 116 of the Canada Labour Code is fixed at

  • (a) in the case of a member of a conciliation board, other than the chairman, $500 for each day that the member is engaged in the performance of the duties for which the remuneration is to be paid; and

  • (b) in the case of any other person, $800 for each day that the person is engaged in the performance of the duties for which the remuneration is to be paid.

 Every member or other person referred to in section 116 of the Canada Labour Code is entitled to be paid reasonable travelling and other expenses incurred by that person while absent from the person’s ordinary place of residence while the person is engaged in the performance of the duties for which the remuneration is paid.
