Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 463Footnote a of the Cooperative Credit Associations ActFootnote b, hereby makes the annexed Complaint Information (Retail Associations) Regulations.

Provision of Information

Marginal note:Information to be provided

  •  (1) For the purposes of subsection 385.24(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act, the information to be provided is that complaints must be communicated in writing to:

  • Marginal note:Manner of providing information

    (2) The information referred to in subsection (1) shall be provided by the retail association by means of

    • (a) a separate written statement; or

    • (b) a statement in a brochure, statement of account or written statement that contains other information that is required, under the Cooperative Credit Associations Act, to be disclosed in respect of a deposit account, an arrangement referred to in subsection 385.18(4) of that Act, a payment, credit or charge card, the cost of borrowing, or any other obligation of the retail association under a consumer provision.

Coming into Force

 These Regulations come into force on the day on which section 385.24 of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act, as enacted by section 313 of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada Act, chapter 9 of the Statutes of Canada, 2001, comes into force.
