Temporary Importation Remission Order, No. 1 (Customs Tariff)

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, pursuant to section 115 of the Customs TariffFootnote a, hereby makes the annexed Temporary Importation Remission Order, No. 1 (Customs Tariff).

Remission

 Subject to section 2, remission is granted to the importer set out in column 1 of an item of the schedule of an amount of duties determined by the formula

where

A
is the total amount of customs duties paid or payable under the Customs Tariff and excise taxes paid or payable under the Excise Tax Act in respect of the goods set out in column 2 of that item that were imported into Canada for the purpose set out in column 3 of that item and are identified by the Temporary Importation Program Number set out in column 4 of that item; and
B
is the greater of $25 and the amount determined by the formula

where

C
is the number of months during all or part of which the goods remain in Canada.

Condition

 The Remission is granted in respect of goods set out in column 2 of an item of the schedule on condition that

  • (a) the goods are used in Canada only for the purpose set out in column 3 of that item;

  • (b) the goods are exported before the end of the temporary importation period set out in column 5 of that item; and

  • (c) the exporter of the goods submits proof of the export of the goods to the President of the Canada Border Services Agency.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
