Regulations Respecting the Advertising, Sale or Importation into Canada of Child Restraint Systems

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs, pursuant to section 7 of the Hazardous Products Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the advertising, sale or importation into Canada of child restraint systems.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Hazardous Products (Child Restraint Systems) Regulations.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations, product means any device for restraining children that is included in item 41 (as enacted by Order in Council P.C. 1988-306, dated February  25, 1988 and registered as SOR/88-150, and numbered as item 40 in the December 31, 1989 loose-leaf consolidation of the Statutes of Canada) of Part II of Schedule I to the Hazardous Products Act. General

 A product may be advertised, sold or imported only if it meets the requirements set out in Schedule 3 to the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Cushions Safety Regulations.
