Regulations Designating Certain Substances as Oil Products and Exempting Certain Kinds of Oil from the Operation of Certain Provisions of the National Energy Board Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources, pursuant to section 89Footnote * of the National Energy Board Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations designating certain substances as oil products and exempting certain kinds of oil from the operation of certain provisions of the National Energy Board Act.

Short Title
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Oil Product Designation Regulations.
Designation
2 The following substances are designated as oil products:
(a) methanol; and
(b) methyl tertiary butyl ether.
Exemption
3 Methanol and methyl tertiary butyl ether are exempt from the operation of parts VI and VI.1 of the National Energy Board Act.
