Order Respecting the Remission of a Portion of the Customs Duties Paid on a Continuous Casting System Imported Into Canada By Stelco Steel

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, is pleased hereby, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue and the Treasury Board, pursuant to section 23 of the Financial Administration Act, to make the annexed Order respecting the remission of a portion of the customs duties paid on a continuous casting system imported into Canada by Stelco Steel.

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Stelco Steel Remission Order.

Remission

 Subject to section 3, remission is hereby granted to Stelco Steel of the amount set out in column III of an item of the schedule, which amount represents a portion of the customs duties paid under the Customs Tariff on a continuous casting system imported into Canada and accounted for under the customs accounting document set out in column I of that item, on the day set out in column II of that item.

Condition

 Remission is granted pursuant to section 2 on condition that a claim for remission is made to the Minister of National Revenue within two years after the day on which this Order comes into effect.
