Marginal note:Attaching to packages of spirits any unauthorized label
166 Every person who, except as authorized by the Trademarks Act, attaches to any bottle, flask or other package of spirits any label, stamp or other device containing any statement or information other than the name of the spirits and the name of the bottler and his place of residence, unless the form and wording thereof have been first approved by the Minister, is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction,
(a) for a first offence, to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars, and
(b) for each subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars,
and in addition thereto in either case to an additional fine equal to eleven cents per litre on the reputed contents of the bottles, flasks or other packages so illegally labelled or stamped.
