Wildlife Area Regulations

 In these Regulations,

Act

Act means the Canada Wildlife Act; (Loi)

adult

adult means a person who is 18 years of age or over; (adulte)

animal

animal means any animal belonging to a species that is wild by nature or that is not easily distinguishable from such a species; (animal)

bismuth shot

child

child[Repealed, SOR/2018-113, s. 1]

designated

designated means designated by the Minister under subsection 3.2(1); (désigné)

domestic animal

domestic animal means a vertebrate that has been domesticated by humans; (animal domestique)

family

family[Repealed, SOR/99-95, s. 1]

firearm

firearm means any barrelled weapon from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged; (arme à feu)

general interpretation services

general interpretation services[Repealed, SOR/99-95, s. 1]

habitat

habitat has the same meaning as in subsection 2(1) of the Species at Risk Act; (habitat)

hunt

hunt means to chase, pursue, worry, molest, follow after or on the trail of, stalk or lie in wait for or shoot for the purpose of taking animals, whether or not the animal is subsequently captured, killed or injured; (chasser)

interpretation services

interpretation services means an activity that involves the interpretation of wildlife and is carried out in the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area; (services d’interprétation)

lead jig

lead jig means a weighted hook, used for fishing, that weighs less than 50 g and contains more than 1% lead by weight; (turlutte plombée)

lead sinker

lead sinker means a sinker that weighs less than 50 g and contains more than 1% lead by weight; (lest en plomb)

Minister

non-toxic shot

non-toxic shot means any shot composed, by weight, of

  • (a) up to 100% iron, tungsten, tin or bismuth, alone or in any combination of those substances,

  • (b) not more than 45% copper,

  • (c) not more than 40% nickel,

  • (d) not more than 7% Nylon 6, Nylon 11 or ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer, alone or in any combination of those substances, and

  • (e) not more than1% all other substances combined; (grenaille non toxique)

permit

plant

residence

residence has the same meaning as in subsection 2(1) of the Species at Risk Act; (résidence)

senior

senior means a person who is 65 years of age or over; (aîné)

sinker

sinker means an object used to sink a fishing line; (pesée)

special-activity interpretation services

steel shot

student

student means a person who is 13 years of age or over but under 18 years of age, or a person who holds a valid student identification card from a recognized educational institution; (étudiant)

tin shot

toxic shot

toxic shot means shot, other than non-toxic shot; (grenaille toxique)

wildlife area

wildlife area means an area of public lands set out in Schedule I. (réserve d’espèces sauvages)
