26 Every vessel, the construction of which is commenced after May 31, 1974, shall be fitted with a carbon dioxide smothering system that

• (a) discharges into the machinery space; and

• (b) complies with the requirements of section 3 of Schedule III to the Fire Detection and Extinguishing Equipment Regulations.
