SCHEDULE V(Section 4)
The boundary between the waters of Fishing Zone 4 and the waters of the islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon shall be delimited by the line described belowFootnote *.
The line shall be defined by geodesic lines that, beginning at sea at the point of Latitude 47°21′54″ N, Longitude 56°29′40″W (NAD27), connect the points that have the following coordinatesFootnote *:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
A | 47°14′28.3″N | 56°37′52.0″W |
B | 47°12′59.0″N | 56°39′45.1″W |
C | 47°07′46.6″N | 56°52′06.3″W |
D | 46°58′58.6″N | 57°05′48.4″W |
From point D, the line shall be defined by segments of arcs of circles of 24 nautical miles radius, centred on the nearest points of the baselines of the French islands, which segments intersect at the points that have the following coordinates:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
E | 46°47′54.5″N | 56°59′12.3″W |
F | 46°36′35.1″N | 56°53′55.3″W |
G | 46°33′14.9″N | 56°50′16.5″W |
H | 46°27′28.4″N | 56°41′17.3″W |
I | 46°23′52.6″N | 56°30′24.0″W |
and thence the line shall continue along the next segment to:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
J | 46°22′03.8″N | 56°24′15.6″W |
From point J, the line shall be defined by geodesic lines connecting the points that have the following coordinates:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
K | 45°23′04.0″N | 56°24′07.6″W |
L | 44°24′04.0″N | 56°24′00.1″W |
M | 43°25′04.5″N | 56°23′52.9″W |
From point M, the line shall be the segment of an arc of circle of 200 nautical miles radius, centred on the nearest point of the baseline of the French islands to:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
N | 43°24′58.0″N | 56°09′26.0″W |
From point N, the line shall be defined by geodesic lines connecting the points that have the following coordinates:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
O | 44°27′45.0″N | 56°09′18.3″W |
P | 45°30′30.0″N | 56°09′10.2″W |
Q | 46°33′17.2″N | 56°09′01.6″W |
From point Q, the line shall be defined by segments of arcs of circles of 12 nautical miles radius, centred on the nearest points of the baselines of the French islands, which intersect at the points that have the following coordinates:
Column I | Column II | |
---|---|---|
Point | Latitude | Longitude |
R | 46°34′52.0″N | 56°01′45.1″W |
S | 46°37′01.7″N | 55°57′12.2″W |
and thence the line shall continue along the next segment to the point of Latitude 46°38′46″N, Longitude 55°54′12″W (NAD27).
Return to footnote *Unless otherwise specified, all coordinates are expressed in the North American Datum 1983 (NAD83) geodetic system.
