A Proclamation
Whereas by Order in Council P.C. 2012-231 of March 1, 2012, the Governor General in Council pursuant to subsection 19(4) of An Act to Implement Conventions between Canada and Morocco, Canada and Pakistan, Canada and Singapore, Canada and the Philippines, Canada and the Dominican Republic and Canada and Switzerland for the avoidance of double taxation with respect to income tax, directed that a proclamation do issue giving notice that the annexed supplementary convention, signed on October 22, 2010, entitled the Protocol Amending the Convention between the Government of Canada and the Swiss Federal Council for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, done at Berne on 5 May 1997, came into force on December 16, 2011 and applies in accordance with the provisions of Article XIII of that supplementary convention;
Now know you that We, by and with the advice of Our Privy Council for Canada, do by this Our Proclamation give notice that the annexed supplementary convention, signed on October 22, 2010, entitled the Protocol Amending the Convention between the Government of Canada and the Swiss Federal Council for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, done at Berne on 5 May 1997, came into force on December 16, 2011 and applies in accordance with the provisions of Article XIII of that supplementary convention.
Of all which Our loving subjects and all others whom these Presents may concern are hereby required to take notice and to govern themselves accordingly.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have caused this Our Proclamation to be published and the Great Seal of Canada to be hereunto affixed. WITNESS: The Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell, a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Canada and Deputy of Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved David Johnston, Chancellor and Principal Companion of Our Order of Canada, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Military Merit, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Merit of the Police Forces, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.
AT OTTAWA, this sixteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord two thousand and twelve and in the sixty-first year of Our Reign.
