His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, and for the reason that the lands are required to facilitate the settlement of native land claims, pursuant to paragraph 23(a) of the Territorial Lands Act, is pleased hereby:
(a) to revoke Orders in Council P.C. 1992-824Footnote *; P.C. 1992-825Footnote ** and P.C. 1992-826Footnote *** of April 30, 1992;

(b) to order the withdrawal from disposal of the lands described in schedules “I”, “II”, “III”, “IV” and “V” hereto, for the period terminating on June 30, 1995, or on the date of coming into force of the legislation ratifying the land claims Agreement between the Inuit of the Nunavut Settlement Area and Her Majesty in right of Canada, whichever comes first, without prejudice to the following interests, including any renewals, replacements, extensions or transfers thereof:
(i) located or recorded mineral claims or prospecting permits in good standing under the Canada Mining Regulations,
(ii) the right to obtain a surface lease on located or recorded mineral claims pursuant to the Territorial Lands Regulations,
(iii) rights in good standing created pursuant to section 8 of the Territorial Lands Act or the Territorial Lands Regulations,
(iv) permits, special renewal permits and leases in good standing under the Canada Oil and Gas Land Regulations,
(v) permits in good standing under the Territorial Quarrying Regulations,
(vi) existing rights and interests granted pursuant to the Canada Petroleum Resources Act,
(vii) existing rights issued pursuant to the Territorial Coal Regulations and the Territorial Dredging Regulations, and
(viii) interests in lands described in “Exhibit 2” to the Acquisition Agreement dated May 5, 1988, among Her Majesty in right of Canada, the Northern Canada Power Commission, the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Northwest Territories Power Corporation.
