Order Transferring from the Minister of Employment and Immigration to the Minister of Labour, all the Powers, Duties and Functions of the Minister of Employment and Immigration under Certain Acts

Whereas, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, all the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Labour under any Act of Parliament were transferred to the Minister of Employment and Immigration by Order in Council P.C. 1993-1488 of June 25, 1993Footnote *;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, is pleased hereby to transfer from the Minister of Employment and Immigration to the Minister of Labour all the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Employment and Immigration under
(a) the Canada Labour Code;
(b) the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Act;
(c) section 16 of the Corporations and Labour Unions Returns Act;
(d) the Department of Labour Act, other than sections 2 and 5;
(e) the Fair Wages and Hours of Labour Act;
(g) paragraphs 28(2)(d) and 43(2)(a) of the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act;
(h) An Act respecting the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co., Limited, chapter 62 of the Statutes of Canada, 1947;
(i) the Merchant Seamen Compensation Act;
(j) section 9 of the Non-smokers’ Health Act;
(k) Part II of the Status of the Artist Act;
(l) the Wages Liability Act; and
