Compensation for Certain Birds Destroyed in British Columbia (Avian Influenza) Regulations (SOR/2004-150)

  •  (1) For the purpose of paragraph 55(a) of the Act, the market value of a goose is determined as follows:

    • (a) in the case of a goose that is 22 weeks of age or younger, in accordance with the formula

      B + [(A - B)/D]E

    • (b) in the case of a goose that is older than 22 weeks of age, in accordance with the formula

      A + [(C - A)/(F - D)](E - D)

      where

      A
      is $149.59;
      B
      is the value of a day-old goose;
      C
      is the salvage value of the goose;
      D
      is 22 weeks;
      E
      is the age of the goose, in weeks, when it was destroyed; and
      F
      is the length, in weeks, of the average production cycle of a goose.
  • (2) Despite the Compensation for Destroyed Animals and Things Regulations, the amount that is established for the purpose of subsection 51(3) of the Act as the maximum amount with respect to a goose is $149.59.
