Service of Documents Required or Authorized to be Served Under Sections 53 to 57 of the Conflict of Interest Act Regulations

The following provision is not in force.

Marginal note:Methods of service

  •  (1) A document required or authorized to be served on a public office holder under sections 53 to 57 of the Conflict of Interest Act may be served

    • (a) personally, by delivering a copy of it

      • (i) to the public office holder at any place, or

      • (ii) if the public office holder cannot conveniently be found, to a person who appears to be at least 18 years of age at the public office holder’s last known address or usual place of residence;

    • (b) by registered mail or courier to the public office holder’s last known address, usual place of residence or place of work; or

    • (c) by electronic transmission, including by fax or e-mail, to the public office holder’s last known address, usual place of residence or place of work.

  • Marginal note:When a copy required to be sent by registered mail

    (2) If a document is served by electronic transmission, a copy of it shall also be sent by registered mail.
