Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) Order

Les Éleveurs de porcs du Québec, formerly known as the Fédération des producteurs de porc du Québec, pursuant to sections 3 and 4 of the Quebec Hog Marketing OrderFootnote a, makes the annexed Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) Order.

Interpretation

 The following definitions apply in this Order:

producer

producer means a person engaged in the production of hogs, sows or boars in Quebec. (producteur)

sow or boar

sow or boar means a sow or boar produced in Quebec. (truie ou verrat)

Levies

 Every producer shall pay the following levies to the Commodity Board for each hog, sow or boar sold or marketed by the producer in interprovincial or export trade:

  • (a) per hog whose net weight is at least 65 kg, a levy of $0.0123 per kilogram of net weight of the hot carcass as defined in the Règlement sur la production et la mise en marché des porcs, RLRQ, c. M-35.1, r. 281; and

  • (b) per sow or boar, a levy of $8.97.

Remittance of Levies

 The producer shall remit the levies referred to in section 2 to the Commodity Board on or before the 15th day of each month in respect of hogs, sows and boars sold or marketed during the preceding month.

Repeal

 The Quebec Hog Marketing Levies (Interprovincial and Export Trade) OrderFootnote 1 is repealed.

Coming into Force

 This Order comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
