PART 4Vessel Registry Fees (continued)
Marginal note:Small Vessel Register
16 (1) A vessel of 15 gross tonnage or less, other than a pleasure craft referred to in paragraph 15(1)(e) or a vessel referred to in paragraphs 15(1)(b) to (d), must be registered or listed in the Small Vessel Register.

(2) An application or request for a service related to the Small Vessel Register must be presented in respect of
(a) a single vessel;
(b) a fleet of two or more identical vessels, including government vessels, that are owned by the same owner and
(i) are human-powered,
(ii) are 8.5 m in length or less and are propelled by sail alone, or
(iii) are equipped with one or more primary engines that have an aggregate propulsion power of less than 7.5 kW; or
(c) a group of two or more vessels, other than government vessels, of 5 gross tonnage or less that are owned by the same owner and that are registered at the same time under different certificates of registry.

(3) The fee payable for processing an application or request for a service related to the Small Vessel Register set out in column 1 of the table to this subsection is the fee set out in column 2.

(4) No fee is payable for the processing of an application or request for the following services related to the Small Vessel Register:
(a) reporting alterations to a registered vessel;
(b) updating the name or address of an owner;
(c) appointing an authorized representative;
(d) updating the name or address of an authorized representative; and
(e) transmitting to a surviving joint owner in case of death of another owner.

30 (1) Subject to subsections (2) to (4), these Regulations come into force on April 1, 2021.
