Order Providing for the Fixing, Imposing and Collecting of Levies from Certain Soya-Bean Producers in Respect of the Marketing in Interprovincial and Export Trade of Soya-Beans Produced In Ontario

The Ontario Soya-Bean Growers’ Marketing Board, pursuant to section 4 of the Ontario Soya-Bean OrderFootnote *, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Order providing for the fixing, imposing and collecting of levies from certain soya-bean producers in respect of the marketing in interprovincial and export trade of soya-beans produced in Ontario.

Dated at Chatham, Ontario, this 3rd day of May, 1980

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Ontario Soya-Bean Marketing Levies Order.

Interpretation

 In this Order,

Act

Act means The Farm Products Marketing Act of Ontario; (Loi)

Commodity Board

Commodity Board means the Ontario Soya-Bean Growers’ Marketing Board established pursuant to the Act; (Office)

Plan

Plan means any plan for the marketing of soya-beans established and amended from time to time pursuant to the Act and any regulations made pursuant to the Act to give effect to the plan; (plan)

producer

producer means a person engaged in the production of soya-beans in Ontario; (producteur)

soya-beans

soya-beans means soya-beans produced in Ontario. (soja)

Application

 This Order applies only to the marketing of soya-beans in interprovincial and export trade and to persons and property situated within the Province of Ontario.

Levies

 Every producer shall pay to the Commodity Board, in addition to the licence fees set out under the Plan, levies at the rate of one dollar per tonne of soya-beans sold by the producer or on behalf of that producer.

Method of Payment

 Every producer shall pay to the Commodity Board at its office, 175 Keil Drive South, Chatham, Ontario, all levies payable by him pursuant to section 4 not later than the 15th day of the month following the month in which the soya-beans in respect of which levies are payable were sold.
