Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Apricots Marketed in 1982

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2, 8.2, 10 and 11 of the Agricultural Stabilization ActFootnote *, being of the opinion that the market situation for apricots in British Columbia is substantially different from the market situation therefor in the rest of Canada, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of apricots marketed in 1982.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Apricot Stabilization Regulations, 1982.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations,

Act

Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)

apricots

apricots means apricots grown in British Columbia by a producer in the calendar year 1982 and sold by the producer as fresh fruit or for processing on or before December 31, 1982; (abricots)

producer

producer means a person residing in British Columbia and producing apricots in British Columbia. (producteur)

Designated Commodity

 Apricots are hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.

Prescribed Percentage

 For the purposes of determining the prescribed price of apricots for the calendar year 1982, the percentage of the base price of apricots for that year is hereby prescribed to be 90 per cent.

Prescribed Price

 The prescribed price of apricots for the calendar year 1982 shall be the amount obtained by adjusting 90 per cent of the base price of apricots for that year by the index applicable thereto calculated in the manner set out in the Production Cost Index Regulations.
