38 (1) Subject to section 39, the temperature multiplier for any temperature converting meter shall be established by using the following equation, namely,

• (a) in the International system of units,

  T_m = 288.15/(T_b + 273.15), or

• (b) in the Imperial system of units,

  T_m = 519.67/(T_b + 459.67)

  where

• (c) T_m is the temperature multiplier; and

• (d) T_b is the temperature established by the contractor and used as the base temperature for the calibration of the temperature converting meter.

(2) Subject to section 39, the temperature multiplier of any meter other than a temperature converting meter shall be established by using the following equation, namely,

• (a) in the International system of units,

  T_m = 288.15/(T_ga + 273.15), or

• (b) in the Imperial system of units,

  T_m = 519.67/(T_ga + 459.67)

  where

• (c) T_m is the temperature multiplier; and

• (d) T_ga is the average flowing gas temperature.
