Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2Footnote *, 8.2Footnote **, 10Footnote *** and 11Footnote **** of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of apples produced in 1983 and 1984.

Short Title
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Apple Stabilization Regulations, 1983 and 1984.
Interpretation
2 In these Regulations,
- Act
Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)
- apples
apples means apples produced in Canada by a producer in the calendar years 1983 and 1984 and sold by the producer during the respective 1983 and 1984 market periods; (pommes)
- market periods
market periods means, for apples produced in 1983, the period beginning July 1, 1983 and ending June 30, 1984 and, for apples produced in 1984, the period beginning July 1, 1984 and ending June 30, 1985. (périodes de commercialisation)
Designation
3 Apples are hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.
Prescribed Percentage
4 For the purpose of determining the prescribed price of apples for the market periods, the percentage of the base price of apples produced in 1983 and 1984 respectively is hereby prescribed to be 90 per cent.
