Oil Product Designation Regulations

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources, pursuant to section 89Footnote * of the National Energy Board Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations designating certain substances as oil products and exempting certain kinds of oil from the operation of certain provisions of the National Energy Board Act.

Designation

 The following substances are designated as oil products:

  • (a) methanol; and

  • (b) methyl tertiary butyl ether.

Exemption

 Methanol and methyl tertiary butyl ether are exempt from the operation of Part 9 of the Canadian Energy Regulator Act.
