Rules Respecting Qualifications for Appointment of a Member, other than an Officer, in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
The Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, pursuant to subsection 10(1)Footnote * of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act, hereby makes the annexed Rules respecting qualifications for appointment of a member, other than an officer, in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, effective June 30, 1988.

Short Title
1 These Rules may be cited as Commissioner’s Standing Orders (Qualifications).

Qualifications
2 In addition to the qualifications noted in section 9.1 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act, no person shall be appointed to be a member, other than an officer, unless that person is
(a) proficient in either official language, and
(b) 19 years of age or older.
