Ontario Fishery Regulations, 1989

8 (1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), no person shall use artificial light to attract fish for the purpose of fishing.

(2) A person may use artificial light for the purpose of fishing for

• (a) smelt; or

• (b) lake whitefish or lake herring by means of a dip net.

(3) A person may, when angling, use an artificial light that is part of a lure attached to a line.
