Remission Order in Respect of Goods Under the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988 (SOR/98-23)

Remission

• 1 (1) Subject to section 3, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff on the goods described in the codes set out in the schedule to the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988 that are listed in Part 1 of the schedule to this Order, as those descriptions read during the period referred to in section 3.

• (2) The amount remitted is the difference between the amount of customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff and the amount of the applicable customs duties set out in column IV of the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988.

• 2 (1) Subject to section 4, remission is hereby granted of the customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff on the goods described in the codes set out in the schedule to the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988 that are listed in column 1 of Part 2 of the schedule to this Order, as those descriptions read during the period referred to in section 4.

• (2) The amount remitted is the difference between the amount of customs duties paid or payable under Schedule I to the Customs Tariff and the amount of the applicable customs duties set out in column IV of the Customs Duties Reduction or Removal Order, 1988.

Conditions

3 Remission is granted under section 1 on condition that the goods were imported during the period beginning on July 1, 1991 and ending on the day on which this Order comes into force.

4 Remission is granted under section 2 on condition that the goods were imported during the period beginning on July 1, 1991 and ending on the corresponding date set out in column 2 of Part 2 of the schedule to this Order.

6 This Order comes into force on December 29, 1997.
