An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day)

SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Holidays Act to make Remembrance Day a legal holiday.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

R.S., c. H-5 Holidays Act

 Section 3 of the Holidays Act is replaced by the following:

Marginal note:Remembrance Day

3 November 11, being the day in the year 1918 on which the Great War was triumphantly concluded by an armistice, is a legal holiday and shall be kept and observed as such throughout Canada under the name of “Remembrance Day”.
