1 This Act may be cited as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Act.

Marginal note:Constitution approved

2 The Constitution of the Food and Agriculture Organization set out in the schedule is hereby approved.

Marginal note:Powers of Governor in Council

3 The Governor in Council may make such appointments, establish such offices, make such orders in council and do such things as appear to him to be necessary for carrying out the provisions of the Constitution set out in the schedule.

Marginal note:Annual report

4 The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall prepare a report of the operations under this Act, and cause it to be laid before Parliament, as soon as practicable after the close of each fiscal year, but in any event within ninety days after the end of each fiscal year, or, if Parliament is not sitting on the ninetieth day and the report has not been laid before Parliament, the Minister of Foreign Affairs shall cause it to be laid before Parliament on any of the first fifteen days thereafter that either House of Parliament is sitting.
