Transfer of Duties Order (SI/2013-109)

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a)Footnote ^a of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties ActFootnote ^b, transfers to the Minister of Health

• Return to footnote ^bR.S., c. P-34

• (a) effective October 7, 2013,

  • (i) all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food under the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ActFootnote ^c, except the powers, duties or functions conferred on the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food under subsection 4(2) of that Act that do not relate to food safety,

    • Return to footnote ^cS.C. 1997, c. 6

  • (ii) all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food relating to food safety under any Act of Parliament, and

  • (iii) the control and supervision of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency; and

• (b) effective on the day on which the Safe Food for Canadians ActFootnote ^d comes into force under s. 111 of that Act, all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food relating to food safety under that Act.
