SCHEDULE(Sections 2 and 3)

PART IDescription of the Airport Reference Point

The airport reference point, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1 dated February 23, 1987, is a point distant 154.0 m measured southwesterly at right angles to the centre line of runway 11-29 from a point thereon distant 825.0 m measured southeasterly along the centre line from the end of the strip associated with runway approach 11, which distances are ground level distances.

PART IIDescription of the Approach Surfaces

The approach surfaces, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1 dated February 23, 1987, are surfaces abutting each end of the strips associated with the runways designated 07-25, 11-29 and 16-34 and are described as follows:

  • (a) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 07 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 25 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 2 530 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip; the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 283 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 101.2 m above the elevation at the end of the strip;

  • (b) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 25 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 25 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 2 530 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 283 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 101.2 m above the elevation at the end of the strip;

  • (c) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 11 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 50 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 15 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 2 400 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 300 m above the elevation at the end of the strip;

  • (d) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 29 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 40 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 3 000 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 450 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 75 m above the elevation at the end of the strip;

  • (e) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 16 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 25 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 2 080 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 283 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 83.2 m above the end of the strip; and

  • (f) a surface abutting the end of the strip associated with runway approach 34 consisting of an inclined plane having a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 25 m measured horizontally rising to an imaginary horizontal line drawn at right angles to the projected centre line of the strip and distant 2 080 m measured horizontally from the end of the strip, the outer ends of the imaginary horizontal line being 283 m from the projected centre line; said imaginary horizontal line being 83.2 m above the end of the strip.

PART IIIDescription of the Outer Surface

The outer surface, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1 dated February 23, 1987, is an imaginary surface located at a common plane established at a constant elevation of 45 m above the elevation of the airport reference point, except that, where that common plane is less than 9 m above the surface of the ground, the imaginary surface is located at 9 m above the surface of the ground.

PART IVDescription of the Strips

The strips, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1 dated February 23, 1987 are described as follows:

  • (a) the strip associated with runway 07-25 is 60 m in width, 30 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 1 339.2 m in length;

  • (b) the strip associated with runway 11-29 is 300 m in width, 150 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 1 644 m in length; and

  • (c) the strip associated with runway 16-34 is 150 m in width, 75 m being on each side of the centre line of the runway, and 2 239.2 m in length.

PART VDescription of Each Transitional Surfaces

The transitional surfaces, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1 dated February 23, 1987 are described as follows:

  • (a) the transitional surfaces associated with runway 07-25 are inclined planes rising at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 5 m measured horizontally at right angles to the centre line and projected centre line of the strip and extending upward and outward from the lateral limits of the strip and its approach surfaces to an intersection with the outer surface or another transitional surface of an adjoining strip or to an elevation of 54.805 m above sea level;

  • (b) the transitional surfaces associated with runway 11-29 are inclined planes rising at a ratio of 1 m measured vertically to 7 m measured horizontally at right angles to the centre line and projected centre line of the strip and extending upward and outward from the lateral limits of the strip and its approach surfaces to an intersection with the outer surface or another transitional surface of an adjoining strip or to an elevation of 54.805 m above sea level; and

  • (c) the transitional surfaces associated with runway 16-34 are vertical planes rising from the lateral limits of the strip to an intersection with the outer surface or another transitional surface of an adjoining strip or to an elevation of 54.805 m above sea level.

PART VIDescription of the Outer Limits

The boundary of the outer limits of lands, shown on Port Hardy Airport Zoning Plan No. (Z) B.C. 2033-1, dated February 23, 1987, is described as follows:

Beginning at the Airport Reference Point, the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates of which are N5,615,390.269 and E615,541.334;

Thence on an azimuth of 39°03′45″ a distance of 154.00 m to a point on the centre line of strip 11-29;

Thence southeasterly along the centre line of strip 11-29 on an azimuth of 129°03′45″ a distance of 819.00 m to a point on the southeasterly limit of strip 11-29;

Thence on an azimuth of 219°03′45″ a distance of 459.14 m to a point on the southwesterly limit of the southwesterly transitional surface, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,614,637.411 and E615,984.858, which point is the POINT OF COMMENCEMENT of the description of the lands to which these Regulations apply;

Thence northwesterly along the southwesterly limit of the southwesterly transitional surface on an azimuth of 309°41′14″ a distance of 769.74 m to an intersection with the southerly limit of the southerly transitional surface associated with strip 07-25;

Thence westerly along the said southerly limit on an azimuth of 274°54′32″ a distance of 151.065 m to an intersection with the easterly limit of the strip 16-34;

Thence southerly along the said easterly limit of strip 16-34 on an azimuth of 178°23′31″ a distance of 892.04 m to an intersection with the easterly limit of Approach Surface 34; the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,614,250.299 and E615,267.203;

Thence southerly along the said easterly limit of Approach Surface 34 on an azimuth of 172°40′53″ a distance of 2 090.374 m to the southeast corner thereof, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,612,177.458 and E615,533.426;

Thence westerly along the southern boundary of Approach Surface 34 on an azimuth of 268°23′31″ a distance of 566.0 m to the southwest corner thereof; the UTM coordinates of which are N5,612,161.578 and E614,967.784;

Thence northerly along the western limit of Approach Surface 34 on an azimuth of 004°06′09″ a distance of 2 090.374 m to an intersection with the western limit of strip 16-34; the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,614,246.095 and E615,117.297;

Thence northerly along the said western limit of strip 16-34 on an azimuth of 358°23′31″ a distance of 909.17 m to an intersection with the southern limit of the southerly transitional surface of strip 07-25;

Thence westerly along the said southern limit on an azimuth of 274°54′32″ a distance of 365.68 m to a point having UTM coordinates of N5,615,185.973 and E614,727.542;

Thence westerly along the southern limit of the southerly transitional surface on an azimuth of 278°06′04″ a distance of 834.64 m to an intersection with the southern limit of Approach Surface 07, the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,615,303.564 and E613,901.427;

Thence westerly along the southern limit of Approach Surface 07 on an azimuth of 266°40′48″ a distance of 1 707.98 m to the southwest corner thereof, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,615,204.674 and E612,196.727;

Thence northerly along the westerly limit of Approach Surface 07 on an azimuth of 002°23′26″ a distance of 566.0 m to the northwest corner thereof, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,615,770.046 and E612,220.329;

Thence easterly along the northern limit of Approach Surface 07 on an azimuth of 098°06′04″ a distance of 1 707.98 m to an intersection with the northern limit of the northerly transitional surface, said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,615,529.414 and E613,910.856;

Thence easterly along the said northern limit of the transitional surface on an azimuth of 086°40′48″ a distance of 834.64 m to a point having UTM coordinates of N5,615,577.739 and E614,743.897;

Thence easterly along the said northern limit on an azimuth of 089°52′20″ a distance of 107.555 m to an intersection with the southwesterly limit of the southwesterly transitional surface of strip 11-29;

Thence northwesterly along the said southwesterly limit on an azimuth of 309°41′14″ a distance of 170.885 m to a point having UTM coordinates of N5,615,687.076 and E614,719.959;

Thence northwesterly along the said southwesterly limit on an azimuth of 308°29′22″ a distance of 2 080.20 m to an intersection with the southern limit of Approach Surface 11; the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,616,981.425 and E613,092.130;

Thence northwesterly along the said southwesterly limit on an azimuth of 300°31′54″ a distance of 13 064.44 m to the southwest corner of Approach Surface 11, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,623,616.771 and E601,841.802;

Thence northeasterly along the northwesterly limit of Approach Surface 11 on an azimuth of 039°03′45″ a distance of 4 800.00 m to the northwest corner thereof, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,627,342.879 and E504,865.881;

Thence southeasterly along the northeasterly limit of Approach Surface 11 on an azimuth of 137°35′36″ a distance of 12 032.75 m to a point in the said limit where it is intersected by an arc having a radius of 4 000.00 m measured from the Airport Reference Point, the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,618,460.316 and E612,978.693;

Thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along an arc having a radius of 4 000.00 m measured from the Airport Reference Point an arc distance of 12 105.68 m to a point where the said arc intersects the southeasterly production of the southwesterly limit of Approach Surface 29;

Thence northwesterly on an azimuth of 314°46′23″ a distance of 169.585 m to the southerly corner of Approach Surface 29, the UTM coordinates of which are N5,612,754.458 and E618,319.435;

Thence northwesterly along the southwesterly limit of Approach Surface 29 on an azimuth of 314°46′23″ a distance of 1 239.63 m to an intersection with the southwesterly limit of the southwesterly transitional surface, the said point of intersection having UTM coordinates of N5,613,627.322 and E617,439.630;

Thence northwesterly following the said southwesterly limit on an azimuth of 304°46′24″ a distance of 1 771.48 m to the POINT OF COMMENCEMENT.
